Advocacy

Being an Advocate

The Arthritis Foundation offers a way of advocating to get the Arthritis Prevention, Control and Cure Act support. Below you will find three ways of helping: contacting Congressional officials, contacting state officials and contacting the media. The Arthritis Foundation asks this:

Please take a moment out of your busy schedule to help your Senators and U.S. Representatives understand how arthritis affects you in your daily life and ask them to cosponsor the Arthritis Prevention, Control & Cure Act if they haven't already. Let them know how this legislation will improve the lives of the 46 millions of Americans living with arthritis.

Advocacy is important to me because I have had JRA for most of my life. In my adult years, I’ve made it my “mission” to learn all I can about arthritis; specifically RA/JRA and Fibromyalgia.I feel that only through learning can we advocate the best things for those of us who have these diseases. I would repeat the urging of the AF: Contact your elected officials in support of the Arthritis Prevention, Control and Cure Act.
